Regional Manager SBDC - 511375Job no: 511375Work type: Regular Full-time (Benefits eligible)Location: TuscaloosaCategories: Research/ScientificPay Grade/Pay Range: 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - 46633.56 Midpoint - 67620.84Department/Organization: 750202 - Alabama SBDC NetworkNormal Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM to 5:00 PMJob Summary: The Regional Manager of the Small Business Development Center actively identifies and assists start-up and existing small businesses for SBDC management and technical assistance services which will meet program goals and create economic impact in terms of business creations, access to capital, business expansion, and job creation.Additional Department Summary: The manager serves as a senior business consultant to provide leadership, technical assistance, and training to small businesses in response to their specific needs. The manager maintains an active client referral network and serves as a key small business resource for local economic development, civic, government, and business organizations within a regional territory. The position works with a high volume of small businesses on a weekly and monthly basis to assess needs, understand challenges, and offer solutions for growth.The primary service territory includes rural designated counties in Southwest and Southeast Alabama.Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of management experience; OR Master's degree and one (1) year of management experience.Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, research skills and working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and at least five (5) years of management or consulting experience, OR a Master's degree and three (3) years of management or consulting experience is preferred.Experience as a small business owner and or business consultant in dealing with the challenges of operating a small business and offering creative solutions in the areas of business planning, marketing, finance, and accounting. Knowledge of or experience with Small Business Administration guaranty lending programs and SBA contracting and certification programs are a plus. Pre-existing relationships or experience with financial institutions and economic development organizations are a plus.
