MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Cleans hard surface floors using appropriate method such as vacuuming, sweeping and mopping. Move chairs, trash receptacles, or other easily moveable items to maintain floors underneath these items.
Cleans and maintains carpeted areas to keep carpet reasonably free of all stains, soil, and dirt.
Spot cleans small areas of carpet when needed, by vacuuming, hot water extraction, or shampooing.
Performs floor stripping which includes the removal of floor finishes down to the flooring material to ensure that floor surfaces are free of dirt, stains, deposits, cleaning solutions, standing water, and have a uniform appearance when dry.
Applies and removes floor finish as required. Applicable to tile, terrazzo and concrete floors.
Recoats /burnishes floor by applying a light coat of finish to maintain the floor while removing minor scratches and scuff marks.
Vacuums and cleans interior floor mats, area and throw rugs. Ensures that floor mats are free of all visible lint, litter, debris, soil and other foreign matter.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS
Must have prior experience as a Janitor or possess general knowledge in cleaning
GED or High School diploma preferred
Must be able to pass Federal background check.
Must be able to write and read to interpret written manuals and directives.
Must be able to follow oral instructions for the accomplishment of job assignments.
Must have a valid drivers license.
