Join us at Guidehouse.ResponsibilitiesIn this non IT/Telcom related role, the workstream Project Oversight Manager will function at the level of a Managing Consultant at Guidehouse. Project Oversight Manager own client engagements from cultivation to completion. In this role, you will be accountable for the activities of the project team and support the day-to-day management of the client relationship. You are expected to effectively develop and manage work plans, staffing, deadlines and budgets for multiple complex projects simultaneously. Work products are expected to be high-quality and client-ready. In this visible role, you will lead team meetings, and guide, manage, and coach consultants and senior consultants, providing constructive feedback on project participation and overall career development. Project Oversight Manager work closely with Directors and Partners to keep them abreast of project progress and important developments. Project Oversight Manager support sales initiatives and practice developmentResponsibilities include:
Oversee projects from beginning to end (initiation to closeout)
Manage scope, schedule, and budget
Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and resources needed
Oversee and manage subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly, identifying risks, issues and changes
Manage the change control process
Identify risks and issues and drive them to resolution
Ensure compliance with standards and quality control procedures
Negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements
Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses
Work with other departments to estimate work and develop resource and financial estimates
Ensure all deadlines are met
Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) related Project Management experience to include managing a team (excluding IT & telecommunications)
4+ years management consulting with work experience centered on contractor over sight, planning, scheduling, estimating and safety management (excluding IT and telecommunications)
Experience managing utilities/nuclear construction projects with excellent knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and processes (permitting processes, etc.) for construction projects
Experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
Experience managing EPCs
Highly organized
Knowledge of MS Office Suite
Familiarity with Primavera P6 or equivalent MS Project experience
Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills
Ability to travel as needed
Preferred QualificationsIn addition to the above qualifications:
Master’s degree or MBA
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
2+ more additional years of Utilities/Nuclear project management oversight experience to include managing a team (excluding IT and telecommunications)
