Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Network Technician for our client located in Montgomery, AL .

Job Description :

Provides daily operations support and maintenance for network systems (including wireless).

Proactively monitors networks to provide stable, dependable network services across multiple platforms.

Configures and troubleshoots computer networks. Maintains LAN / WAN / wireless operations by working with network facility and hardware / software vendors to ensure timely problem resolution.

Maintains and utilizes network management applications to identify network faults, to ensure the provision of data or other telecommunications access to customers, and the movement of information from one location to the other.

Responsible for Tier I software and hardware support. Diagnoses and resolves problems using documented procedures and checklists in the performance of most responsibilities.

Enters call data into a tracking system.

Escalates problems to higher level technical support professionals when necessary.

Assists in the resolution of application, hardware and software problems.

Skills Required :

Works on projects / systems / issues of small to medium complexity.

Provides daily operations support and maintenance for network systems.

Works on one project a time as a project team member.

Functions, somewhat independently, under general direction of senior technicians / engineers, supervisors or managers.

In general, follows documented procedures and checklists.

Ability to install, configure and support Windows Operating Systems and other Microsoft applications.

Ability to learn and implement third-party applications and solutions as required in complex situations.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff and users, and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and assignments.

Ability to logically analyze a problem and provide alternatives for their resolution.

Ability to travel anywhere in the state.

Skills Preferred :

Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts with ability to configure and troubleshoot network connections such as basic IP settings, Internet connections, network shares / drives, network printers, etc.

Install / Support Windows 7 & 10 computers.

Configure network connection and access to redirect folders.

Reestablish access to Office 2010 / 2013 software suite and other applications as needed.

Configure, install, troubleshoot and refresh Windows 10 in a Microsoft network environment on both desktop and laptop computers, network printers.

Fundamental knowledge of Networkingknowledge of technical equipment and common software packages : Hardware and software skills, including Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365 Suite, and Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome browsers

Experience with actual Point of Sale (POS) equipment like barcode scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers, and signature capture devices

Imaging and testing desktops and laptops, installing network printers, and installing / replacing peripheral devices.

Able to lift 50 lbs., climb tall ladders, and work in high and sometimes dusty environments.

Experience Required :

Typically has 1 to 3 years of IT work experience in infrastructure / network environments.

Education Required :

Associate€™s or Bachelor€™s Degree, or technical institute degree / certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.

Or equivalent work experience.
