TRAINING POSITION for someone with excellent attention to detail, a good appearance and social skills. We need the right guy/gal/couple to start ASAP with a family owned firm that has over 20 years in the business who needs a blind/shutter installer person with smart phone, tablet, GPS and economical, dependable vehicle that can carry ladders, tools as well as product. A van, minivan, suv or truck with a cap would work well some have even used a KIA. There is a good deal of driving involved from job site to job site, to stores and the office. CLEAN background (no convictions of any kind felony or misdemeanor no matter how long ago). . We provide actual jobs. Not leads. Previous experience with multiple types of window treatments would be great but we are willing to train you. We have been amazed at folks who say they can build a house but can not properly measure for or install a window treatment.
Applicant should present a neat appearance, be able to communicate well with customers and store associates, however there is no cold calling. You will be "selling yourself" and representing our company and the stores we serve during the installation. You will work with our lead installer and operations manager to learn what we do. You will be paid during training an hourly rate but training will be only as long as it takes for you and us to feel comfortable that you can complete jobs.
Skills required: accurate measuring ability, capable of learning the limitations and nomenclature of window/wall/door components so you can complete the install as it was measured. Knowledge (or be willing to be taught) proper selection and use of correct fastener systems for various substrates (concrete, tile, masonry, metal, sheetrock, hardwood). In some cases photos may have been taken of pre-existing conditions or to make clear the measure persons notes. Willingness to learn, or knowledge of the many types and styles of window treatments now available and what their limitations are, is imperative. You should be able to complete basic paperwork which may soon take the form of a tablet for which we will train you. Promptness getting to jobs and status updates between office and customers mandatory.
We have plenty of work in Mobile and across the bay markets. We set up the appointments for you. Work as little or as much as you like, however if you do tell us to set up a day for you, you must promptly get to the appointments within the arrival time window. No drama, no excuses, no smoking odors going into the homes, no political discussions, no family issues to be discussed with customers. It goes without saying, but say it we must.No alcohol, drugs or evidence of their use IF detectable by office, stores, customers or your performance in any way. Of course, what you do on your own time is your business.
Examples given in compensation section: Our experienced guys/gals can usually accurately install and shorten 6-9 normal horizontal product in about 1 1/2 hours - value would be approximately $80.00 to you. All work paid by the job for those completed with customer satisfaction signed off. My lead installer makes $700-1000. per week. Various schedules available, after hours and weekend work available also.
