The Mundy Companies, a world leader in industrial services, has a position open at Axis, Alabama. We are seeking a contract Laboratory Technician who will provide accurate analysis of routine in process and product samples and contribute to special projects. This position will report to the QA / Lab Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate analytical results in a timely manner
- Develop knowledge of all Quality Assurance Lab analytical procedures.
- Accumulate data to determine plant operational trends
- Change daily work schedule to accommodate inventory, special samples, etc., including possible weekend and holiday work when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records for all plant shipments.
- Conduct analysis as required to resolve customer quality issues.
- Provide all necessary analytical report forms including daily, weekly, and monthly production or regulatory reports.
- Advise plant supervision of off-specification material or unusual analytical results
- Prepare and /or be responsible for sample shipments, either local or overseas.
- Support and maintain compliance with all plant and corporate safety and environmental programs.
- Take and transport field samples for lab use.
- Ability to demonstrate proficient use of Lab equipment, i.e., Ph Meter, Moisture Meter, Density Meter, Gas Chromatography Machine, etc.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 year Associate Degree, Chemistry, Science, Biology, Lab Techniques
- Minimum 1-2 + years of laboratory analysis experience in an industrial laboratory environment
- Commitment to following safe working practices, individually and as a team member
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to identify, gather, analyze and evaluate data
- Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
- Ability to work in highly manual/physical conditions such as weather, stairs, ladders, walking, standing, lifting
