Executive Director (Part time) 16-20 hours/week

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the ED has the responsibility to provide leadership for the organization, see the operation of SOMI Club is conducted in an effective efficient and safe manner and that staff and volunteers receive appropriate supervision and support.

Duties include (but not limited to):

Administrative:

Oversee daily operations of SOMI programs

Recommend policies, programs and procedures to the Board for the effective operation of SOMI Club mission

Maintain and keep SOMI Club website current

Develop and maintain Policies & Procedures Manual

Program Management:

Market the program within the mental health system and the community

Pursue grants, recruit participants and develop volunteer opportunities for the members

Community Representation:

Act as liaison, spokesperson and public relations representative in community forums

Maintain and develop effective relationships with local mental health and community service organizations, businesses and government agencies

Personnel Management:

Provide daily supervision and support of SOMI staff and volunteers to include any disciplinary action necessary

Provide leadership for team building

Ensure a safe environment for staff, members and volunteers

Support Board of Directors in recruitment/hiring of staff and volunteers

Financial Oversight:

In conjunction with the Treasurer of the Board, administer the funds and physical assets of SOMI Club

Oversee appropriate financial and budgetary procedures to maintain financial control and efficient use of resources

Coordinate with the Board in planning for resources needed to accomplish SOMI mission, including grant renewals, leasing space, insurance and capital expenditures.

The ideal candidate will have:

The lived experience of a mental health condition

A minimum of two to five years’ experience working with people living with mental illness

Experience in grant writing

Experience with Quickbooks/Accounting/Payroll

Office management skills
