Looking for a Certified Medical Assistant for a solo orthopaedic practice. Must have experience working with patients in a clinic setting and precerting insurance and work comp for tests or procedures. Able to use EMR. Must be a multi-tasker.
Primary functions of the medical assistant include, but are not limited to:
Have an understanding and learn to do prior authorizations for tests or procedures
Communicating clinical information for outside diagnostic testing (MRI, CT, EMG/NCV, etc.)
Interview patient and record medical histories, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood
pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician
Perform dressing changes, apply/removing casts/splints, remove sutures/staples
Perform autoclave duties
Order medical supplies and keep inventory
Computer saavy a plus!
Requires a high school diploma and medical assistant certificate and one to three years of experience in a related field.
