Must be able to pass a required pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Must have valid photo ID, Social Security card and valid Mobile County Food and Beverage Handler card or ServSafe certification readily available.

Three years fine dining experience (as in country club or 4 and 5-star restaurant) and bartending experience is preferred.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develops and maintains a bar product and supplies inventory system for:

a. Alcoholic beverages including wines;

b. Non-alcoholic beverages and mixers;

c. Glassware; and

d. Paper and other bar supplies.

2. Plans promotional strategies and materials; develops recipes to improve the beverage program for members and guests.

3. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware and equipment through regular inspections.

4. Maintaining and training of food and beverage point of sale system and make sure all guest tickets are accounted for by the end of each shift.

5. Develops standard operating procedures to help assure that bars are set-up and operated efficiently.

6. Trains, schedules, supervise, and evaluates bar personnel according to established Club procedures.

7. Develops product and revenue control systems and procedures to help reduce theft.

8. Assures that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed.

9. Works with Dining Room Manager, Banquet Manager and others to ensure efficient beverage service in all of the Clubs outlets and for special functions.

10. Monitors labor and budgets; takes corrective action as necessary.

11. Direct member contact ensuring member satisfaction as well as handles complaints from Club members, guests and others.

12. Assists with private parties and service in food and beverage outlets when necessary.

13. Plans and develops training programs and professional development opportunities for self and all other beverage personnel.

14. Keeps current with changing member preferences and industry trends.

15. Conducts scheduled meetings with service staff.

16. Attends staff and management meetings.

17. Monitors bar closing procedures (checklist) and assures that area is secure.

18. Assures that the Clubs policies and procedures for selling alcoholic beverages are consistently followed in all beverage outlets and at all Club functions.

19. May serve as Clubs opening or closing manager or manager on duty.

20. Maintains a service log regarding any notable member or guest behavior.

21. Performs other appropriate assigned duties.

22. Regular and prompt attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Bachelors Degree in field or minimum 3 years experience.

Some management or supervisory experience is helpful.

Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and to supervise professional and non-professional personnel.

Good human relation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively deal with people at different organizational levels both inside and outside the organization.

Well-developed problem solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.

Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activities practices.

Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Clubs operations.

OTHER:

1. Must be available for emergency and scheduled work requirements on evenings, weekends or holidays.

2. Must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime if necessary.

3. Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs.

4. Requires long periods of time standing; frequent bending.

5. Must have a valid Alabama drivers license

6. American Red Cross and AED certified.
