DescriptionAccountemps is looking for an achievement-oriented Senior Corporate Tax Accountant to join a well-respected company in the surrounding Mobile, AL area. In the role, you will prepare and cross review tax return analyses and supporting documentation for the North American division on an accurate and timely basis and will prepare all federal, state, local, and international tax returns using tax compliance software and certain state tax websites.The Senior Corporate Tax Accountant will undertake tax-related projects as assigned and perform all required tax research and analysis to document, support, and communicate conclusions.Role & Responsibilities: Prepare on a timely basis, U.S. and Canadian federal and provincial/state income, franchise, excise and other tax returns for jurisdictions in which the division is required to file Compile and maintain an annual tax compliance filing calendar Prepare on a timely basis, U.S. and Canadian information returns to include all domestic and foreign reporting requirements Calculate and prepare domestic and international estimated/installment and extension payments and reconcile liabilities for all tax jurisdictions Administer notices from tax jurisdictions regarding tax deficiencies and tax audits. Draft responses to notice and develop plan of correspondence for resolution of inquiry. Obtain relevant data necessary to resolve tax notice and tax audit inquiry in a satisfactory manner. Maintain a record of data provided and due dates of information requests Prepare return to provision adjustments for all filed tax returns and enter adjustments in tax software package, and prepare related journal entries for posting in financial reporting package, if necessary Prepare monthly quarterly and annual tax provision working papers Compute all required book to tax adjustments. Enter adjustments into tax provision software Prepare and cross review all necessary adjusting journal entries Analyze reasonableness of current and deferred tax provisions. Query and resolve any unusual items Reconcile accounting and tax cumulative balances and tie to gross deferred balances Assist with financial reporting to Group headquarters Reconcile general ledger tax account activity on a monthly basis Accurately prepare tax depreciation schedules.
