We believe that a business succeeds when its employees succeed.Job Description:This Accounting Specialist is responsible for customer billing for Newport Group and affiliated companies, as well as, supporting team goals and objectives. This position is all inclusive from set-up to termination. This employee will act as a liaison with internal departments to research fee inquiries, and collect fees.The Accounting Specialist will perform the following functions:

Customer billing for Newport Group including but not limited to set-up, change notice processing, review, corrections, maintenance, billing

Must be able to meet all billing and revenue related deadlines.

Create on demand invoices

Research and resolve billing inquiries.

Manage tasks through Footprints and meet company guidelines with respect to response times.

Respond timely according to company policy to inquiries on customer records.

Researching, tracking, and resolving accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies, preparing adjustments in relation to billing functions including communicating with internal and external customers effectively.

Ability to read, understand, and follow the provisions of a service agreement.

Ability to retrieve data from recordkeeping systems, company websites, and other third party applications as needed

Maintain integrity of data in fee application, CRM, and accounting system related to customer accounts and billing

Aged receivables support

Support all billing functions as needed

Assists with month end close procedures

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

Attends corporate training classes, as required.

Maintains and models professional behavior.

You are the right person for this role if:

High school diploma or GED required

Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2 years’ experience in accounting, data entry, customer service, or related field.

Learn and become proficient in use of accounting software, external partner sites, and recordkeeping software

Skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.

Advanced user of Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel.

Must have excellent work habits, including the willingness to work the hours necessary to meet important financial deadlines.

Must be detail oriented

Ability to use technical and analytical skills to problem-solve and troubleshoot situations.

Must possess excellent organizational skills.

Must be able to keep client information confidential.

Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak clearly in English.

Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among employees.

Must possess the ability to handle difficult people or situations.

Must be able to use hands, fingers and wrists, repetitively, using a computer keyboard, telephone, and adding machine.
