As Branch Chief, manages operations activities required to

support human spaceflight missions including planning,

directing, controlling development, or evaluating flight

products, flight systems hardware and software operational

requirements.

Manages the planning, design, development, and Implementation of

new or upgraded system technology and capability development to

support multi program needs.

Directs development of mission design crew procedures, training,

data acquisition requirements, and technical mission

documentation for nominal and contingency spacecraft operations.

Manages and coordinates all activities required to support

prelaunch and launch operations for assigned missions.

Manages preparation and execution of on-orbit crew experiment

activity, time-lines, and support requirements, development of

operations concepts, determination of launch opportunities and

launch windows, and performance of orbit mechanics analysis.

QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Education Requirement, the applicant must

have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower

grade, (GS-14) which has equipped the applicant with the particular

competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the

position described above. Specialized experience includes, but is

not limited to: Managing mission operations integration activities

such as the flight operations requirements integration of science

research and technology payloads; Supporting the definition and

development of concepts, ground rules and constraints, and

techniques for advanced human spaceflight exploration operations. ;

and Oversight and control of processes and procedures utilized for

mission and/or payload operations integration, spacecraft command

and control in support of payloads, simulations and training, and

the management of new, advanced and upgraded systems technology and

qualifying for this position. Note: Curriculum must include 30

semester hours of course work in a combination of mathematics,

statistics and computer science. Of the 30 semester hours, 15 must

be in any combination of statistics and mathematics which includes
