Reliability Systems Engineer - PAC-3

Alabama, Huntsville / decatur 00000 Huntsville / decatur USA

Vacancy caducado!

Come join Boeing Space and Launch in support of the PAC-3 Program. This position is for a Reliability Engineer working in Huntsville Alabama. At Boeing, our engineers use their expertise to create innovative next generation capabilities for a wide variety of amazing aerospace platforms and products. In joining this program, you will be part of an outstanding team of technical designers & engineers making history as we shape this one of a kind program.Position Responsibilities:Performance of failure analyses, root cause analyses and troubleshooting to understand root cause and development of corrective actions. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify system solutions. Evaluates customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Recommends improvements to test procedures, tools, standards. Perform identification of FRACAS incidents and provide updates to point of closure at Failure Review Board, including weekly customer deliverables. The engineer is expected to execute Reliability Engineering, which entails development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FEMA), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and Reliability Analysis:Development of Reliability Block Diagrams to represent the reliability relationship between components of a system and allow for the development of block failure models used to evaluate the reliability of a system and obtain life/event data concerning eachcomponent/subsystem.Develop Failure Mode and Effects Analysis which involves reviewing components, assemblies, and subsystems to identify failure modes, and their causes and effects. For each component, the failure modes and their resulting effects on the rest of the system are recorded in a specific FMEA worksheet. Worksheets are compiled until all failure modes and their causes and effects are identified. FMEAs will be performed initially at a functional level and as the design matures at a detail design (piece part) level. Functional analyses are used as an input to determine correct failure modes, at all system levels, both for functional FMEA or piece part FMEA. Development of Criticality Analysis which is used to chart the probability of failure modes against the severity of their consequences. The results of this analysis identifies failure modes with relatively high probability and severity of consequences, allowing remedial effort to be directed where it will produce the greatest value. The FMEA/FMECA is a design tool used to systematically analyze postulated component failures and identify the resultant effects on systemoperations.Development of an FMEA requires that the analyst include all significant failure modes for each contributing element or part in the system.Develop Reliability Analysis which involves construction of a model (life distribution) that represents the time to failure of the entire system based on the life distributions of the components, sub-assemblies and/or assemblies (black boxes) from which it is composed. In the conduct of this analysis the relationships between components are considered and decisions about the choice of components can be made to improve or optimize the overall product reliability. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Minimum technical bachelor's degreePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Electrical Engineering degree/experience preferredExperience in Reliability EngineeringExperience with FMEA/CILPrior experiencesupportingmissileprograms preferredTypicalEducation/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
