The Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to join our Requirements & Verification team.The selected individual will perform systems engineering tasks that includes evaluation of requirements to support the verification process, examine systems and component level design and provide evidence of progress towards meeting requirements through verification reviews and activities. The candidate must feel comfortable communicating with leadership and customers. The individual will be working with a high performing team that is driven to continuously improve and develop innovative solutions to products and processes. This position requires the individual to be resourceful in completing tasks that might have limited description of the task and direction.Position Responsibilities:Provide technical planning in support of requirements development and verification activities.Develop verification objectives or verification closure packages.Define processes and tools to execute verification activities that supports multiple milestone events.Resolve technical issues involving multiple functional areas or IPTs.Present briefings to leadership and customer that requires effective communication skillsProvide support for planning and execution of technical reviewsDevelopment of integration plans and strategies, participation in cross-functional teams, integrating data and analyses from multiple sources, providing inputs to analysis plans, documenting engineering analyses and assessments, preparing and presenting briefing charts, providing task status and tracking metricsThis position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Minimum technical bachelors degree5+ years of engineering experiencePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in space and missile systems preferredExperience using industry standard tools for requirements management such as DOORS or RhapsodyExperience in verification development or test planning experience.Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position does not offer relocation.
