With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.The Avionics and Test Solutions Team is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced test and evaluation hardware products. The candidate selected for this position will be a part of the Avionics and Test Solutions Team, it will require a design engineer with demonstrated engineering skills, expertise, and interests in irradiance measurements from high energy laser illumination. The individual must be a self-starter with experience working with inter-disciplinary engineering teams to solve challenging technical problems. The engineer will work closely with irradiance measurement mechanical components for integration into a diverse range of military platforms including missiles, UAVs, ground vehicles, and more.The Irradiance Measurement Mechanical Engineer will be expected to execute in a fast-paced, small team environment through all phases of the product life cycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support. The engineer will be responsible for architecting and implementing mechanical components and assemblies or irradiance measurement systems.The individual is expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. Additionally, the engineer will support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the manufacture and test of deliverable products. This will include troubleshooting board-level issues, assessing failures for root cause, and identifying corrective actions.IND3Basic QualificationsPossess a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.Candidate must:

have at least 5+ years of relevant experience.

have demonstrated knowledge of irradiance measurement technology.

have knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 drawing standard

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.Other QualificationsPreferred candidates will also meet some of the following:

Experience with Solidworks

Knowledge of CAD/EPDM products (Solidworks)
