Gulf Shore Assemblies is an automotive supplier to Honda. MAI Companies has locations in Alabama, Indiana, and Ohio that all assemble and supply to Honda. GSA assembles tire and wheels, ZF struts, bumpers, and fuel canisters. There are two locations, one in Lincoln and one in Talladega, AL. This position will be located at the Lincoln plant with a supervisor located at the Talladega plant.

Scope and Purpose of Position

Responsible for Lincoln MP&L operations and indirect responsibility for Talladega MP&L operations, including but not limited to inventory, planning, and logistics of products. This position reports to the Corporate Supply Chain Manager with an indirect line to the Sr. Manager of Plant Operations.

Tasks of the Position

Manage MP&L operations (materials, planning, and logistics) at both plants

Develop and review MP&L process maps, SOPs and SWDs on an ongoing basis

Review and update necessary SOPs to ISO and company guidelines

Manage cycle count program for improved accuracy

Inform Purchasing and internal/external customers of material flow issues where applicable

Escalate critical situations where necessary to improve customer satisfaction

Coordinate daily updates to internal production schedule (receive, audit, and update)

Maintain inventory accuracy at required company levels

Support internal/external audits for process validation

Maintain timely and accurate inventory transactions

Develop and monitor transactions for improved processing time and accuracy

Manage trailer logistics in yard

Manage MP&L team at GSA, including monitoring safety, quality, and productivity

Develop MP&L team to include training, coaching, and holding them accountable

Investigate supplier and customer complaints and collaborate with other departments to identify root causes and take corrective actions (DTRs, NCRs, and other)

Coordinate with Operations for a monthly consolidation of expendable packaging used

Submit monthly compensation requests on expendable packaging used

Work with other MAI companies to set up, improve, and standardize documented business processes

Assist Purchasing department with logistic issues and follow up

Lead, participate, and support Continuous Improvement activities to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and others

Be available to take calls/solve issues after hours

All other tasks as required

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages others in the MP&L team.

Some responsibilities include leading, training, planning, prioritizing, communicating, evaluating, troubleshooting, delegating, influencing, mentoring, and motivating.

Effectively assign daily job tasks and redirect workloads, accurately evaluate and write performance reviews, apply and constructive discipline as needed, readily address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Create and maintain a safe, productive, and highly effective environment.

Job Requirements

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

Safety apparel (PPE) and uniform mandatory

Must be able to continuously lift 30 to 75 lbs. and occasionally carry a distance of 30 to 50 feet

Continuous reaching, kneeling, grasping, twisting, bending, leaning and extension of upper body.

Perform job requirements of a Production Associate as needed

Work daily assigned shift to include overtime, up to and including production Saturdays, shutdown days, and holidays as needed

Follow all company policies including IS0 9001 2008/ISO 14000 and QOS adherence (where applicable) and MAI Companies (GLA, GSA, IA) Associate Handbook and Safety Manual

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or MBA in a Business or Supply Chain discipline

5 to 8 years of related experience

Manufacturing experience preferred

APICS certified preferred

MFG-Pro experience preferred

QAD/SAP/ERP experience preferred
