The Wiregrass Areas largest independent repair shop has an amazing opportunity for the right person. We are looking to hire a shop foreman. This is a rare opportunity, we are moving our current foreman to our newest location and need to fill his spot in our Dothan location.
Automotive Shop Foreman Job Purpose:
The Automotive Shop Foreman is responsible for the overall efficiency, profitability, and reputation of our auto shop operations. He oversees the quality, timeliness, and fashion in which auto repair services are performed and delivered to our valued customers. The Foreman is fully accountable for the daily operation of the shop and works to optimize customer value and profitability.
Automotive Shop Foreman Job Duties:
Help drive increase of overall shop productivity and Fix It right the First Time.
Supervise and assist technicians as needed.
Monitor training for all technicians (hourly and Flat rate).
Review the diagnostic results of any technician performing new and/or unfamiliar diagnostic procedures before major repairs have begun.
Assist in the shop to avoid the technicians from leaving their work area, this will improve their productivity, following up with all technicians to verify they have all parts and everything to complete their jobs.
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of customer vehicles, ensuring that work is done expeditiously and correctly.
Must work effectively to ensure time limitations are met.
Minimizes comebacks by conducting periodic spot checks of in process vehicles.
Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
Assist the service advisors and dispatcher by managing flow, handle in the shop concerns so writers can be at their desks helping customers.
Provide diagnostic and test drive assistance as needed by the service sales staff
Help the dispatcher maintain an effective dispatch system with fairness and integrity.
Control shop tools and equipment to maintain functional working equipment. Verifies needed maintenance and repairs are performed in a timely manner.
Create and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and coordinating resolution of customer conflicts in a manner that does not compromise the customer's interest, while maintaining appropriate attention to shop profits.
Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures.
Understands and follows all applicable federal, state, and local regulations on hazardous waste and OSHA Right- to Know.
Administer safety and housekeeping policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Skills/Qualifications: Equipment Maintenance, Lifting, Problem Solving, Reporting Research Results, Quality Focus, Productivity, Product Knowledge, Customer Service, Safety Management, ASE Certified.
