Immediate position open for an experienced automatic press operator who is capable of printing 400-600 pieces per hour. Candidate must be comfortable in all aspects of apparel screen printing and production. We are looking for a team player, with a positive attitude, enjoys working with others, while improving their knowledge of this craft.

COMPENSATION BASED UPON EXPERIENCE. THE MORE COMPETENT THE OPERATOR, THE HIGHER THE WAGE!

At least 2 years of screen printing experience, M&R machinery is a plus

Press Operator - All Levels

Responsible for your people assigned to your press, the work and everything that happens on your press.

As a Press Operator it is your responsibility to delegate and oversee your crew. Catchers should help load cart. Pullers are to do as directed by Operator and follow proper set up procedure. The Operator must keep the flow of work going at ALL times and must keep their personnel busy working at ALL times as well. A Press Operator must also insure the safe working practices of those around you. Employees are to follow safety rules and proper use of PPE.

- Supervisor is to have screens, inks, squeegees and sample at the press prior to set up.

- Line screens up using the Tri Loc, using proper set up procedure to coordinate your team.

- After registration is complete take a test print with registration marks still on it to a manager for

approval. While getting approval, have Puller tape off registration marks.

- Check the imprint yourself as well and try to catch something that might be an issue.

- After you get signed approval make sure you tape the design number to the approved shirt sample.

- Proceed with the production run, maintaining maximum speed and quality.

- Make sure paperwork is filled out properly and quantities are correct. ALWAYS REMEMBER If there are any questions or problems ask a Production Manager for help, never guess.

- Always listen to your Puller and Catcher. Once a Catcher or Puller alerts you of a quality issue, either caused by a fuzz ball or pinhole, stop the press and take corrective action.

- Maintain a clean and orderly work space.

KNOW THAT THE OPERATOR HAS THE REPONSIBILITY OF INSURING THE ORDER IS PRINTED CORRECTLY AND ACCURATELY. IN THE EVENT THE CATCHER ANNOUNCES THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE PRINT STOP THE PRESS AND LOOK AT THE SHIRT AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY BY THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

Operator Levels

Level III Operator:

- Must be able to identify quality issues and know how to properly troubleshoot and correct them.

- Ability to offload shirts without causing quality issues such as distorting or flopping, while maintaining production speed.

- Know proper Tri Loc set up procedure.

- Follows safety rules and uses proper PPE.

Level II Operator:

- Can perform all Level III qualifications, in addition to the following:

- Can perform a multi-color set up in allotted time.

- Can properly fill out all production paperwork.

- Can achieve appropriate ink deposit.

- Can load 480 shirts an hour with less than 1% misprints for placement.

Level I Operator:

- Can perform all Level II qualifications, in addition to the following:

- Can perform set up with no aid or instruction from supervisor.

- Can teach other operators in proper procedures.

- Can determine proper print order.

- Can delegate and oversee press team.

- Can load 560 shirts an hour with less than 1% misprints for placement.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; Experience needed depends on level of operator.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations or to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability
