We are looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor for our location in Dothan, AL.

Duties:

Individual will conduct individual and group counseling sessions.

Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with treatment team accordingly.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and the development and implementation of patient treatment plans according to State regulatory requirements.

Provide clinical services and patient care and education and opiate addiction counseling services to patients receiving methadone maintenance and detoxification treatment.

Experience in addiction counseling a plus.

Requirements:

Alabama Counselor Requirements:

A Qualified Substance Abuse Professional I

(QSAP I) shall consist of:

An individual licensed in the State of Alabama as a:

(I) Professional Counselor, Certified Social Worker,

Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Psychiatric Nurse

Practitioner, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical

Psychologist, Physician's Assistant, Physician;

(ii) An individual who:

Has a master's Degree or above from an accredited

college or university in psychology, social work, counseling,

psychiatric nursing, or other behavioral health area with

requisite course work equivalent to that of a degree in

counseling, psychology, social work, or psychiatric nursing, and

Has successfully completed a clinical practicum,

and/or holds a substance abuse counselor certification

credential from the Alabama Association of Addiction Counselors,

National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors,

Alabama Alcohol and Drug Association, or International

Certification and Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug

Abuse, Inc.

A minimum of two years of counseling experience in a related setting

The ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans and chart accurately

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Substance abuse counseling experience and an advanced degree are preferred
