This position is responsible for the day to day operational activities and 7 x 24 planning in servicing an international technical support organization.The Main Responsibilities Develops, plans and manages engineering team responsible to troubleshoot and implementation complex to highly complex WAN, LAN and Security solutions for both external/internal customers. Accountable for timely delivery of customer-facing technical support repair activities and project initiatives. To Support & Analyzes day to day work activities, develop work plans and manage engineering staff schedules to meet departmental needs. Responsible for managing staff resource requirements and task allocations. Servers as technical engineering leader to all stakeholders with focus on advanced coaching of engineering staff with a goal of supporting personal and departmental technical skill development. Responsible for the progress of assigning & tracking complex projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. This may also include project management assisting in a supporting role where required. Follows ITIL framework to maintain a seamless work-movement through facilitation of regularly scheduled meetings with all project stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead other in achieving team and departmental goals quickly and efficiently. Communication of strategic direction while supporting CenturyLink governing principles. Coordinates the creation of work schedules and maintains active work planning. Tracks team workloads to ensure workload balance is maintained to ensure efficient staff resource management is maintained. Accountable to lead departmental process improvement initiatives, providing clear direction for goals which have been identified. Identify/Analyze process risks and inefficiencies. Actively seeks opportunities to transform the business and eliminate costs. Provides feedback on improvement opportunities related to all work activities where improvement through process automation may apply. Strives to ensure that each customer engagement is of high quality, meets the measures of success. Travel to customer locations is required at times, thus occasional travel & overnight stays is a requirement of this position.What We Look For in a Candidate Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work-related experience. Demonstrated technical expertise & leadership qualities is a must. Technical certification related to the position is requirements (e.g. R/S or Security) or a min of 10 years of related helpdesk experience. Outstanding and proven troubleshooting & technical support project management skills. Experience in establishing timelines, detailed reports and executive summaries Ability to manage each task to completion, and to provide status and escalation throughout the process to all stakeholder. Must be proficient in tool sets such as ticket management systems, Microsoft and engineering related tool sets. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills are a must Ability to communicate project needs to internal and external teams/vendors. Utilize a consultative approach and maintain strong working relationships across multiple departments; internal and external; Conduct meetings with stakeholders to determine objectives and execute on deliverables. Motivated self-starter with experience working in a fast paced work environment is a must. Strong ability to provide leadership/mentoring to other team members.Preferred Qualifications: CCNP & GIAC Certification or equivalent experience.
