You may review, modify, or update your information by visiting and logging into the careers section of the system.Job Description:At Regions, the Fraud Analyst performs analysis and interpretation of fraud-based threats by gathering and analyzing data and providing reports from the analysis.Primary Responsibilities

Performs in-depth analysis and interpretation of fraud-based threats impacting the bank by gathering and analyzing data, providing reports from the analysis, determining how fraud was conducted, quantifying losses, and providing recommendations to management address the threat and mitigate losses

Creates trend analysis for card or non-card fraud

Develops, maintains, and generates reports and dashboards as requested by business leaders

Develops and executes transactions and system monitoring for unusual and/or suspicious merchant and other redemption activity

Leverages appropriate tools for complex analysis to identify and create linkages to detect fraud patterns using various data sources, and support related investigations

Utilizes custom reports using various data sources and tools, including SAS

Prepares management reports on investigations and transaction monitoring performance indicators

Stays abreast of best practices and fraud trends to optimize and refine controls used to detect fraudulent activity

Assesses effectiveness of current rule strategies and performs analysis to drive recommendations for enhancements

Proactively identifies fraud savings opportunities through net loss or operational efficiency / effectiveness

Contributes to work flow or process change and redesign

Forms a strong understanding of Fraud and processes

May also be accountable for regular reporting or process administration as "owner"

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science or related quantitative discipline with three (3) years of experience in compliance, audit, or risk analyst type occupations

OR Seven (7) years of experience in compliance, audit, or risk analyst type occupations

Preferences

Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field

Experience in programming

Skills and Competencies

Quantitative and analytical skills

Proficient in SAS/SQL, MS Office, programming languages (e.g. Python, R), analytical tools (Enterprise Miner, Knowledge Studio, H2O, Tableau) and big data tools (e.g. Hadoop HDFS/YARN, Kafka, Hive, Spark)

Extremely detail oriented with intellectual curiosity and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
