We are looking for a Retail Sales Representative with merchandising skills to service independent grocery stores in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa market. The ideal candidate has strong sales presentation and closing skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, thrives in a fast paced environment, and insists on the highest standards in customer satisfaction.
SALES REP/MERCHANDISER JOB DUTIES:
Build relationships with store management and department managers.
Maintain inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory, observing stock levels, prompting store managers to reorder when supply is low.
Verify that merchandise is displayed appropriately with proper signage and favorable shelf placement. This includes setup, as well as the stocking, fronting, facing, and rotating of the manufacturer's products.
Monitor freshness of product
Close voids and growing distribution
Solicit seasonal items and sell promotional surveys
Introduce new product promotions, gain agreement and support from the store managers, secure preferred product placement, re-merchandise, place signage, and generate product awareness with management and employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong selling skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build relationships with Department Managers
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Tech Savvy and familiarity with iPad technology
Dependable car and valid driver's license
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous route/field/grocery sales experience a plus
Ability to lift 40+ lbs on a continual basis
