MidSouth Design is the largest manufacturer of lumber tags, placards and bundle tags in the United States having served the lumber industry worldwide for over 40 years. Additionally, MidSouth continues to provide labeling solutions to the building supply, medical and shipping industries.

This is a full-time position that supports multi-plant custom manufacturing operation with a commitment to quality and exceeding customer expectations. Shift hours are either from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm or 2:30pm - 12:30am (M-H) with the opportunity for overtime. Our production floor is a climate controlled, open workspace for light manufacturing.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for setting up and operating a flexographic rewind press. Production requirements include producing top quality products in a fast paced manufacturing setting, while using computer driven, finishing inspection equipment. Candidate must possess the ability to maintain quality production, inspection and packaging of products produced, as well as possess a level of experience with computer programs in terms of quality production.

Strong consideration given to applicants with fully documented resumes that show past flexographic rewind or press operator experience or other printing experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate Flexographic finishing equipment safely and efficiently producing quality product.

Inspection of product produced to job specifications and quality standards.

Receives production order and job assignments from supervisor.

Obtains required materials for job.

Completes production records as required by company guidelines.

Ensures proper cleanliness of work area.

Able to read, review and understand technical drawings, blueprints and proofs.

Project positive and professional behavior/attitude.

Responsive - timely & appropriately to all personnel.

Follow administrative procedures established for inter/intradepartmental interaction.

Additional tasks/duties/special projects may be assigned, as necessary.

BASE QUALIFICATIONS:

-Mechanical aptitude

-Ability to solve routine production issues

-Operate and make adjustments to mechanical equipment to maintain quality and speed

-Detail oriented

-Ability to work independently with little supervision

-Multi task - ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required

Minimum 3 years of operating mechanical equipment experience

Printing experience a plus

Computer proficiency required

MECHANICAL SKILLS

Ability to problem solve equipment issues, help in preventative maintenance of equipment, trouble shoot equipment setups to determine the best way to run specific products and document solutions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
