Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Plant Maintenance Mechanic at Sherman Concrete. This position is located in Birmingham, AL.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:
Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments
Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
Lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance
Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs
Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures
Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
Performs other miscellaneous mechanical and maintenance duties as assigned. SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer 2 years prior maintenance experience
Some welding experience desired
Ready Mix ConcreteÂoperations and aggregate products experience preferred
Frequently lift 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
