Job is located in the Birmingham Metro area. May have the potential to work in Auburn or Montgomery.
Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Must have prior experience digging near utilities. Must have experience working with underground. Other heavy equipment operations may include trucks, excavators, and other pieces of equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.
This is not an ad for a forklift operator. Must be able to operate heavy construction equipment such as Excavator, Skid loader, Compaction Equipment, and scrapper.
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
Participate in routine maintenance.
Practice workplace safety.
Knowledge of truck and equipment safety.
Knowledge of operation backhoes, dozers and other pieces of equipment.
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
