Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper, Telecommuting, Part-time

Bare Bones Broth is a growing packaged food producer distributing products through grocery stores and Costco. We are seeking a part-time staff accountant or strong bookkeeper within reasonable driving distance of the Birmingham metro area who can work primarily from home doing general accounting work. Some training and periodic meetings may be face-to-face. The ideal candidate will have access to a computer and the Internet, and should have good computer skills and be able to create and work with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Good communication skills (proper use of the English language) are also important. Experience with QuickBooks is a plus. The position involves reconciling bank and G/L accounts, preparing journal entries, coding payables items, posting deposits and performing analyses and other special projects as needed. This person will report to the VP of Finance. The position will probably require approximately 15 - 20 hours per week.
