Landscape - Installation & Repair Specialist

Auburn, AL based landscape company has an opening for an experienced Landscape - Installation & Repair Specialist. We've been in business for over 20 years but have remained relatively small with slow steady growth. We specialize in high quality custom landscape installation and repair projects. We tend to take on a few large custom projects each year with small enhancement/repair type jobs, from past projects, as "filler" work between our large projects. This position can lead to being in charge of all installation/repair projects. We're looking for someone who can come in, prove their value and then begin to teach and mentor their helpers. Past experience is required.

Experience Required:

Experience Installing Trees, shrubs, ground cover & annuals

Experience identifying plant material and their cultural requirements.

Experience hand grading (rakes & shovels)

Experience installing sod

Experience installing mulch and pine straw

Experience installing & repairing Irrigation systems (drip and traditional)

Experience installing & repairing drainage systems

Experience installing & repairing retaining walls and pavers

Experience operating a trencher

Experience operating a skid steer and implements

(3) years landscape/Irrigation installation experience minimum.

Skills Required:

Effectively communicate with clients to ensure job satisfaction.

Supervise and manage crew of 2+ people while also working as a "hands on" team member.

Monitor all tools, equipment and machinery for needed maintenance.

Perform pre-use vehicle circle checks, and perform pre/post-use equipment evaluation for fluid levels, wear and tear, and proper settings.

Proficiency in equipment operation and safety.

Ability to train individuals in technique and safety.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50+lbs regularly.

Ability to operate company Crew-cab flat-bed truck style vehicle with attached enclosed & deck-over trailers.

Ability to maintain order and cleanliness of jobsite throughout project.

Ability to maintain order and cleanliness of company vehicle and trailer.

Ability to complete jobs within budgeted time and materials allotted.

Highly motivated and self- driven to find ways to improve job skills and grow within the company.

Strong attention to detail.

Solid work ethic and positive attitude.

Good time management skills.

Punctual and dependable.

Effective communicator.

Required:

Dependable vehicle to get to and from work.

Clean driving record.

Available for long hours year-round.

Clean and professional appearance.

Able to pass E-verify.

Able to pass drug & background check.

Overview:

(8-10) hour days; (40-50) hours/week; Monday - Friday.

6:00 am - 4:00 pm (central) with mandatory 30 min. job-site lunch break

Available Saturday for rain make-up days (Only when absolutely necessary - we work hard to keep week-ends free).

Hourly pay based on experience; More than willing to pay your worth!
