Compound Semiconductor business at the Auburn Site in Auburn, MI for a Research

& Development Scientist focused on the wafering and characterization of

SiC.Compound Semiconductor, a business in Dupont,

is a customer driven, world leading commercial supplier of high performance,

high quality silicon carbide wafers and epitaxy(SiC). Our products are used

worldwide in the high power switching industry.THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESYour key responsibilities: Carry out research within the SiC applied

scientific field that involves development and design work. Define, lead, and execute product or

application development programs. Optimize wafer based processes and technology. Implement innovative solutions to SiC

technology problems. Conduct lab work and/or direct the work of

one or more lab technicians. Drive cutting edge technology to high yield

productivity. Participate in cross-functional teams,

including representatives from technicaland non-technical disciplines. Manage intellectual property; understand

relevant IP landscape and actively develop new IP. Maintain awareness of end-user needs,

industry trends, technologies and competitive products. Partner with external consultants, vendors,

and other entities to efficiently execute programs, as needed. Write technical reports and present results

in a range of forums.QualificationsYour qualification profile: PhD in Materials, Chemical, Ceramics, Electrical Engineering, or Physical Science with Engineering degree, or MS with 5+ years of related industrial R&D experience. Good understanding of crystalline materials. Statistical data analysis skills and experience. Computational skills towards thermal modeling and technical drawings. Hands on electrical and mechanical skills and experience. Independent thinking, attention to detail, strong organizational and planning abilities. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Strong leadership skills, high energy, self motivated with “whatever it takes” attitude.
