Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code by using a scanner.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with buyer to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments.
Drives forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or pick up items from several locations for shipment.
Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
Reads customer order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Fills requisitions or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
Verifies and keeps records on incoming shipments and prepares items for shipment. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
As an employee of the warehouse, being flexible with work hours is vital. We make every effort to remain within the posted shifts however, due to changing needs of our customers and business, work schedules may be affected.
Other duties may be assigned.
QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Two years shipping and receiving experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year fork lift experience – certification a plus.
Experienced in using scanner to control inventory and move stock. Knowledge of MRP systems a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Ability to use Microsoft applications including word and Outlook at an intermediate level.
Inventory control experience a plus.
Visual Manufacturing system a plus.
Be aware of and apply ANSI/ASQC Q9001-1994 quality system standards.
Must be forklift certified or become certified within first year of employment.
