POSITION SUMMARY:The Registered Nurse-Float Pool provides clinical nursing care to assigned patients, performing related assessments, procedures and treatments, evaluations, patient care plan development/revisions, and education to patient and/or familyand.nbsp; The RN-Float puts the patient first and ensures that high quality care is given to assigned patients by following policies, clinical guidelines, safety systems such as medication scanning and bed alarm use, timely and accurate documentation, core measure compliance and serving as a patient advocateand.nbsp; The RN-Float makes providing an exceptional patient/family experience high priority.Float Nurses are initially trained in Medical/Surgical/Orthopedic and Critical Care Unit (CCU) competencies and will primarily float between these two areasand.nbsp; Once solid competency and performance is established in these areas, Float Nurses are expected to expand their competency set to be able to float to Pediatrics, low acuity NICU, Mother/Baby, and other departments as needed, through ongoing training determined by the Manager of the RN Float Pool.
