Job Summary:Provides services to a comprehensive and integrated Occupational Health Program, including patient care and appropriate referral, on site nursing services, prevention and educational programs.1) Ensures all patients receive the highest quality standard of medical care expected in a medical practice.a) Responsible for practicing within the scope of a Registered Nurse’s license to practice in the State of Maine and maintaining confidentiality as required by the legal and ethical framework of nursing and healthcare.b) Performs nursing components of a comprehensive pre-employment screening, including physical evaluations on preplacement examinations patients and smoke Fit Testing.c) Performs telephone and in office medical triage of patients requiring urgent attention.d) Performs respiratory clearance examinations.e) Evaluates, monitors and provides nursing care.f) Coordinates medical care, rehabilitation and consultation when appropriate.g) May move patients and conduct a nursing assessment as part of comprehensive occupational medical care.h) Educates patients regarding prevention and rehabilitation of their work-related illness or injury.i) Evaluates and refers patients to prevention and wellness programs and EAP where indicated.2) Assists with quality review of records.3) Performs on site nursing services for St. Mary's Health System employees as well as at other clients' locationsRequirements:

Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Maine.

Preference given to a registered nurse with two years of experience in an occupational health, emergency or primary care practice.

Knowledge and understanding of environmental and occupational health principles.

Examination and treatment of patients with illness and/or injury within the scope of nursing license.

Must possess excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple work functions in a busy, fast paced practice environment.
