Pay Range - $17-$24/hour, depending on experienceA world class aerospace defense contractor conveniently located between Atlanta and Birmingham seeks skilled Metal Deburr Technician to finish CNC milled parts. The work environment is clean, safe and centrally air conditioned. In addition to standard medical benefits, other benefits include a gain sharing program, tuition reimbursement, and overtime available.POSITION PURPOSE: Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal work pieces performing following tasks.

Scrapes or rubs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth.

Holds part against buffing or grinding wheel.

Deburr or polishes parts, using portable grinder, chipping hammer, buffer, deburr tool, or hand pick.

Mounts part on revolving spindle or chuck and holds or moves tools, such as file, abrasive or cloth against work piece to file, grind, polish, or buff surface.

Cleans interior surfaces of holes, using reamer.

Changes tools on powered equipment.

Applies abrasive compound, wax or other dressing to facilitate cleaning or polishing operation.

Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges or micrometers.

Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them in hoppers or on machine tables, faceplates, or chucks, using clamps.

Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal work pieces.

Observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments to correct problems.

Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications, using knowledge of machine operation.

Measure work pieces and lay out work, using precision measuring devices.

Select machine tooling to be used, using knowledge of machine and production requirements.

Study blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.

Mount and position tools in machine chucks, spindles, or other tool holding devices, using hand tools.

Activate machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut work pieces, according to specifications.

Other duties as assigned.

High School diploma and over 5 years related experience and/or training in metal deburring using manual and automated tools. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, and work instructions. Requisition ID: 2019-7752 Street: 1425 Commerce Blvd
